At a standstill

Life, or my needlework, is currently at a standstill. I'm spending lots of time on my school stuff -- whether teaching school, taking classes about school, writing papers for school, or preparing to the final exams in school. I tried to do some knitting on a dish cloth this afternoon but was only able to get one row completed. I have, however, downloaded lots of knitting and crocheting patterns from the web in the past two weeks. Right. Just what I need -- more knitting and crocheting patterns. (At least some of the crocheting patterns were in international symbols!)

Lacy Coasters

I finally got a set of 4 of these Lacy Coasters done in Lily Sugar'n Cream's Neptune Ombre (100% cotton 4-ply yarn). The pattern is from the March/April 2008 issue of Crochet Today! They ended up measuring about 5" in diameter.
I started out with just one then over the past few months worked up the rest of them when I had some spare time. The pattern is really quite simple; I just kept putting it down to do other things. Anyway, even after doing four, I still have some yarn left on the ball. I don't think there's enough to complete a fifth coaster so I'll just keep the rest of the yarn in my leftovers box for now.

A "Girl's Best Friend"

. . . may be her knitting needles or crochet hook. In this case, it's a knitted dishcloth in Delft Blue Sugar'n Cream cotton. I found this pattern written by Anne Frost at http://www.thisisspiffy.com/. I'm sure I made a couple of errors in it but, hey, I'm still learning!

And I'm amazed I was able to do as much as I did last night at a Ravelry session without frogging the whole darn thing when I got home! Yay me!
